The Tara Bandu programme is funded by the Pawanka Fund and implemented by Centro Juventude Covalima.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State for Local Development, the President of the Covalima Municipal Authority, the Covalima Municipal PNTL Commander, the Tilomar Post Administrator, environment officers, forest guards, the suco and aldeia chiefs of the four sucos of Tilomar, suco councils, Lia Nain (customary elders) and community members.
The aim of this Tara Bandu is for communities to strengthen the culture and customs of Tara Bandu, laid down long ago by the ancestors, so that new generations can follow in their footsteps. Tara Bandu also sets binding rules and prohibitions that strengthen the bonds between people and people, people and nature, and people and animals.
